The Team

The senior management team at Stratus Environmental, each have over 20 years post graduate experience in their own specialist field, and together we are responsible for the delivery of the company's services to our broad client base with whom we have built long term relationships over many years.

During this time the team at Stratus Environmental has developed a wealth of experience in respect of all aspects of waste and renewable energy development projects, having been involved with numerous schemes throughout the UK and overseas.

The senior management team is introduced below:

NICK DAVIES BSc(Hons) MRICS - Managing Director

Nick is a Chartered Surveyor with over 22 years experience in Planning, Environmental Impact Assessment and the management of multidisciplinary construction project teams. Nick started his career with Greenways and Hanson, and was a director of Humberside Wastewise and its renewable energy subsidiary Winterton Power Ltd. Nicks consulting experience has been developed over the past 13 years with AIG and Encia. Nicks recent experience include appearing as expert witness at planning enquiries and undertaking a carbon reduction project for a client in West Africa pursuant to the UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism and providing feasibility, financial modelling and procurement advice to renewable energy development clients.

DAVID BAKER BSc(Hons) MCIWM -  Development Director

David has over 20 years' experience in planning and development projects for a wide range of property, mineral, waste and renewable energy projects. David's career path has seen him perform a lead development role for Miller Group, Biffa Waste Services, Cable & Wireless and NTL. David has been in the consultancy for the past 10 years during which time he has built his expertise in managing multidisciplinary teams delivering planning applications, design services, environmental impact assessment and regulatory advice for a range of mixed use property developments, large scale waste management, and low carbon renewable energy schemes.  Responsible for a team who can provide services to all stages of the development cycle, David has substantial experience in stakeholder engagement and community liaison.

RICHARD HANLEY BEng(Hons) CEng MICE MCIWM - Technical Director

Richard is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 22 years experience in the waste management and energy sectors. Richards career started as a graduate with May Gurney, from where he joined Wastewise as a project engineer responsible for the design and project management of landfill and waste management infrastructure construction projects across multiple landfill sites. Richard has been in the consultancy profession for the past 13 years as an associate director with AIG and Encia, during this time Richard and his team have managed the development of 3 new landfill facilities and numerous cell, capping and waste treatment infrastructure projects including highways and building design and construction. More recently Richard has provided engineering containment design advice to BP Exploration overseas and he is also leading the design team on wind energy construction projects. Richard is a current member of the ICE/CIWM joint Landfill Technical Group.

ANDREW COXON BSc(Hons) - Engineering Director

Andy has been involved in waste management consulting for over 22 years, having gained his experience with CL Associates, AIG and Encia. During this time Andy has developed a wealth of practical knowledge in respect of Site Investigation, contaminated land remediation supervision, and landfill design and Construction Quality Assurance. Andy has for the past few years managed a team of site based staff providing construction supervision and CQA services across some 55 sites for all types of landfill and waste management infrastructure development work including all types of containment systems, leachate management, gas utilisation and waste treatment facilities. More recently Andy has provided site investigation and supervision support to renewable energy development and costruction projects.
